Preparing for Your Session

Dad

Go for jeans or pants, tucked polo or dress shirt with a belt, or go casual with just a T-shirt or untucked polo, button-up short sleeve, etc.

Mom

Women know what to wear, but in general, long—or 3/4-sleeve tops are very flattering. If you wear jewelry, aim for subtlety and be aware of it twisting or turning.

Kids:

Before the shoot, make sure your child is clean and well rested: fresh nails, hair, feet, and teeth, with diapers tucked discreetly or covered by bloomers, and a good nap if they're at that age. Skip staining foods or colorful drinks for 24 hours beforehand, but a small non-staining treat like cereal or Smarties can help keep them cooperative. For wardrobe, go with simple, coordinated pieces in dark, rich monotones rather than busy patterns: dresses, rompers, or headbands for girls, and polos, button-ups, or overalls for boys. When in doubt, pick a color that complements their eyes.
